Fashion Merchandising
Fashion Merchandisers work on product development and production, promotion of products, and purchasing materials from suppliers. Usually, fashion merchandisers work for retail stores or a textile manufacturer. This job requires you to analyze many things including upcoming trends and how long they’ll last and balancing budgets to satisfy the company you work for. They attend fashion shows and do independent research to predict trends. They also have to have collaborative marketing skills such as knowing the consumer, designing appealing campaigns, price merchandise, creating a budget that their team must adhere to, negotiating with suppliers, and coordinate with their design, sales, and merchandise teams. To obtain a career in this field you should have at least a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising or a related field. But since this field is very competitive internships or volunteer work is also very necessary. Some schools highly recognized for their programs are FIT, Iowa State University, Auburn University, Kent State University, and Colorado State University. Usually these schools have resource centers to find internships but if you can't snag one of those other experience may include sorting through donations at Goodwill or second hand shops or running a Depop/Poshmark shop. I crocheted the first chain, a row of single crochets, and I'm almost done with the first row of loops. Those are my foundation and are expected to take the longest amount of time.
I cut up all the plastic bags and looped them together. Then I rolled all of the plarn into a ball so it would be easier when I crochet.
